Michel T. Torbey, MD, MPH, FAHA, FCCM, is Associate Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Director of the Stroke Critical Care Program, and Director of the Neurointensive Care Unit at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is also coeditor of The Stroke Book with Dr Magdy H. Selim, published in 2007.

Must have when on Neuro ICU rotation

I am a Neurology PGY3 interested in Neurocritical care. I have read other books on Neurocritical care such as the green book by Wijdicks, the pocket book by Bhardwaj, and the one by Ropper. If you want to buy only one book on neurocritical care, I strongly recommend buying this book. It is a very management-oriented book as compared to the one by Wijdicks. In my view this book is a must have and should be with you all the time while on Neuro ICU service.

good overview

Good overview. Lacks some of the details of larger books but great for the non-neurointensivist or for someone like myself who is about to begin fellowship in neurocritical care and would like an overview w/ review of fundamentals. Also liked the reasonable price, hardcover, chapter layout and wide variety of recognized authors.
